Where We Stand – Wakefield Cathedral
As part of the Co-operative Membership North Region and Soroptimists International of Yorkshire’s celebrations for International Women’s Day, ice&fire have been asked to perform a rehearsed reading of their new script, Where We Stand. The day will run 11am-3.30pm and will also feature talks from Margaret Silcock, Chair of the Regional Values and Principles Committee, Linda McEvan MEP and Elizabeth Hughes from Soroptimists International of Yorkshire. There will be African drumming and dance; flamenco, music from India, Ireland and England; foods from around the globe; a Fair and Funky jewellery workshop; hand massage; a collective art piece by Linda King and much more. A rehearsed reading of a short excerpt of our production in development, The Island Nation, and panel discussion at The Frontline Club at 8:15pm. The Event is called Politics & Art: The Role of the Arts in Promoting Human Rights and Exposing Injustices. The Nine O’Clock Slot – London
Booking is now open for our next show The Nine O’Clock Slot which will run from 26 March – 19 April 2014 at The Red Gallery in Shoreditch, London. The play, written by our Artist in Residence Hannah Davies and our Creative Producer Annecy Lax, is a truly immersive theatre experience; using film, choreography, spoken-word poetry, skilled physical comedy and even song-and-dance numbers to explore the rise in the number of modern-day ‘paupers’ funerals’.
